Maybe like me, you may have noticed that single serve coffee makers are just about everywhere. I first saw one at a party I was attended. Towards the end of the evening the hostess was making coffee for anyone who wanted some. Instead of making a whole “pot” of coffee, each guest was able to choose from a large selection of flavored caffeinated and decaffeinated coffees packaged in containers called K-cups. Several varieties of tea were also an option. Of course, I was enthralled. What a boon to civilization. Well, maybe just a great invention. First I chose a delicious blend of coffee, my hostess put it in the coffee maker and about a minute later I had a wonderful piping hot fresh cup of coffee. Just to my liking. Well, I have to admit I was impressed. My next step was to compare the cost of making a single cup of coffee using the special purchased cups and making a pot of coffee. Much to my dismay the single serve coffee cups were much more expensive than buying a can of coffee. My disappointment didn’t last long. While researching several different brands of single serve coffee makers I discovered that the better brands come with an empty plastic K-cup that allows you to fill with your favorite brand of coffee, for information please contact cuisinart coffee maker. Now you are only paying more if you use the specialized coffee. Plus, by making single cups at a time there is no more wasted half pots of coffee and no one has the drink from the “bottom of the pot.”
